GSU Baseball Splits Doubleheader at Fairmont State, Rebounds with 6-1 Win

BRIDGEPORT – Glenville's Baseball team played to a doubleheader split on Saturday afternoon at Fairmont State. The Falcons captured Game One 5-3, but the Pioneers rebounded to take Game Two 6-1 behind another outstanding start from right hander Adam Riggleman.

In Game One, GSU received solo home runs from Trevon Smith and Matthew Mangum. Calen Kampes added an RBI-single. Fairmont had a three-run second to highlight their win.

In Game Two, Riggleman was the difference, going six innings, striking out 12 Falcons, while allowing only three hits. Jose Rodriguez and Julian Minaya came on to pitch the final inning. Mitch Lohr recorded a solo home run, with RBI's added by Smith, Kampes, and Zach Morris.

Glenville is now 17-7 overall, and 5-5 in the Mountain East Conference. Fairmont moves to 12-13 overall, and 7-3 in the MEC.

Coach Jimmy Mullins' squad remains on the road Sunday, traveling to Frostburg to face the Northern Division leading Bobcats.
