ATHENS – Glenville State's Softball squad went on the road Wednesday afternoon, playing their travel partner Concord in a mid-week doubleheader in Athens. The Mountain Lions prevailed in both games, winning Game One 2-0, and the nightcap, 7-3.
Game One was a pitchers' duel between Glenville's Holly Brehm and Concord's Caitlyn Bauer. Brehm went the distance, giving up five hits, only one earned run, and struck out 10 CU hitters. Brehm is now only two strikeouts off the program's single season record. Bauer went the distance for the Mountain Lions, recording a two-hit shutout. Haylee Stevens and Monica Rodelo each had hits for the Pioneers.
Concord pushed to an early 4-0 lead in Game Two, but Glenville rallied to post three runs in the top of the fourth inning.
