RAVENNA, OHIO – Glenville State's Women's Golf Team opened the 2022-23 campaign with a victory. The Pioneers closed day two at Windmill Lakes Country Club in Ravena, Ohio in a record-setting fashion. The Lady Pioneers posted an opening round team score of 316. The team finished the tournament with a score of 620 breaking the previous record for the lowest team score in a two-day tournament.
Individually, GSU Sophomores
Grace Halcrow and
Kendall Wall led the Pioneers with both posting a 77 on day two. Three Glenville State players posted scores in the 70's for the second round.
Hailey Hendershott finished day two with a 78. Teammates
Lizzie Bickar and
Campbell Young rounded out the card posting an 82 and 83.
Rebekah Sugalski once again led the second unit with a solid 85.
What's Next
The Pioneers continue their season tomorrow at Vulcan Invitational in Belle Vernon, Pa. The field consists of a total of 13 teams. Three other Mountain East Conference foes are a part of the field. The remaining top four teams from the MEC Preseason Poll University of Charleston, Davis & Elkins, and Wheeling University make up the MEC schools competing.
