The Lady Pioneers Drop MEC Opener to the Bobcats 4-0

Box Score Glenville, W.Va. - The Glenville State University Women's Soccer team fell to West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats 4-0.

The Lady Pioneers opened up the start of tonight's match with an early challenge from the Bobcats. West Virginia Wesleyan created chances in the first five minutes from a corner kick and two shots. Glenville's Graylin Floyd constructed the Pioneers first shot in the fifth minute of the match. However, goalkeeper Ally Moore would make the save for Wesleyan.

The Bobcats continued to challenge the Lady Pioneer's defense in the first half. Mikayla Brown endured Wesleyan's attack until the 23rd minute of the match. Kameron Bonneau scored the goal for West Virginia Wesleyan making it 1-0 in favor of the Bobcats. After conceding the goal the Pioneers would withstand Wesleyan's attack. The Lady Pioneers produced another chance before the half from Senior Mackenzie Hendricks.

Glenville opened the match's second half, attacking and creating chances to tie the match. In the 50th minute, Merel Smets produced another shot for the Pioneers. Once again, Mackenzie Hendricks created another opportunity for Glenville to score. Hendrick's shot would be on target for the right side of the net. Wesleyan's keeper Ally Moore made the incredible save to prevent the equalizing goal. The Bobcats continued to find the back of the net. Talia Stacy and Ava Badallo scored in the 75th and 80th minute to extend Wesleyan's lead to 3-0. Before the match would end, Kameron Bonneau scored again in the 84th minute making the match 4-0

Merel Smets and Mackenzie Hendricks would lead the Lady Pioneers in shots with two. Jordyn Dansby-Ross, Graylin Floyd, and Alexa Smith played the full 90 minutes for the Pioneers.
