The Lady Pioneers Host Tigers in Home Opener

The Lady Pioneers host the Salem Tigers for the first home match of the season. The Pioneers are off to a hot start in the 2022 campaign with a 6-3 record. Glenville has already faced Salem this season defeating the Tigers 3-0.

Salem enters Thursday night's contest with a 0-11 record. Head coach Ashley Ziegle enters her sixth season with the Tigers. In their previous matchup against West Virginia Wesleyan, Makhia Hinton led Salem in kills with 13. Hinton has produced 68 kills for the Tigers this season along with 71 digs. Freshman Brianna Sotelo leads Salem this season in digs with 79.

For Glenville this season, the Lady Pioneers have had a great start to the 2022 campaign. As a team, the Pioneers are currently ranked sixth in the nation in service aces and 14th in kills. Opposing teams hitting percentage against Glenville has been 9.7% this season ranking the Pioneers 13th in the nation. Katarzyna Niderla currently leads the Mountain East Conference in kills and is third in the conference in service aces. Juniors Sydney Goodrich and Julia King are tied ninth in the MEC in service aces. Defensively for the Lady Pioneers, Lindsay Winkler leads the team in digs. Winkler currently is ranked fifth in the MEC in total digs for the 2022 season.
