The Pioneers were able to win the rebounding battle out-rebounding the Mountain Lions 42-30. GSU also finished the contest hitting 11 three-pointers while shooting 40.7% from beyond the arc.

While Glenville State got going in the opening minute hitting by hitting a three, the Pioneers had a six-minute cold spell. Concord was able to take advantage of GSU's poor shooting to take a 15-3 lead. During the Mountain Lions' opening run, Lual Rahama was a key player for CU. Rahama scored Concord's first nine points. While Glenville State finally got going offensively the Pioneers still trailed the Mountain Lions by ten at the under-ten media timeout.

Coming out of the stoppage of play Concord jumped out to their largest lead of the contest. JJ Harper's three at the 7:43 mark made it 27-12. The Pioneers were able to cut down the Mountain Lion's advantage to eight. However, before the final media timeout of the first half CU took another double-digit lead.

In the final four minutes of the opening half, Glenville State produced a 14-6 run. Jordan Turbo Smith scored eight of the Pioneer's 14 points during the dominant streak. Right before the buzzer Smith's half court heave went in making it a one-possession game shifting the momentum in favor of Glenville.

Coming out of the half the Pioneers were able to take their first lead of the game since the first few minutes. Jordan Turbo Smith's shot from beyond the arc at the 18:47 mark put GSU up 41-40. Once again Glenville State produced another dominant to take an eight-point advantage. The Pioneer's 16-6 stretch was started by Jaelin Johnson's three.

In the next five minutes, Coach Caldwell's squad started to trade shots with the Mountain Lions. Concord before the under-ten media timeout cut the Pioneer's advantage down to five. An 8-2 run by the Mountain Lions made it a one-possession game.

A jumper by Freddie Word put Glenville State up seven during the final stretch of the contest. Multiple times in the final four minutes Concord would make it a two-point game. With a layup by Jaelin Johnson with less than ten seconds to go the Pioneers now had a four-point advantage. After Concord's Ethan Heller made a layup Freddie Word was sent to the free-throw line. While Word missed the free throw, the Mountain Lions would be out of time.
