Pioneer Volleyball Ends Season with Senior Night Victory Over Concord

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Volleyball team closed out the 2023 campaign tonight with a 3-1 victory over Concord on Senior Night. Both teams surpassed 50 kills on the night as the Pioneers led with 56.

The Pioneers opened the game with an exciting first set victory 25-19 on the back of two seven-point unanswered runs. In the second set, the two squads traded opportunities to take the set but it would be the Mountain Lions coming out on top 29-27, finishing out the set with consecutive kills.

The third set looked to be all Pioneers early on, however a surge by CU made it close at the backend of the stanza. GSU held on strong to take the set 25-20. In the closing fourth set, Glenville State once again managed to go up big but their lead would dwindle near the end. Just like the third set, the Pioneers held on to win and take the match 3-1.
