Glenville State Track Field Head South to Compete in Vertklasse Invite

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Track and Field gear up for Vertklase Invite hosted by High Point University. The Pioneers will be a part of a massive 65-team field consisting of schools at every collegiate level.

Coach Dan Meyers's squad is coming off a solid showing at the Bethany Invitational. On the Women's side their multiple first-place finishes. Janel Mitchell with a time of 65.78 placed first in the 400-Meter Hurdles. Mitchell a freshman, currently sits first in the Mountain East Conference and 44th in the country. Glenville's youth continued to have success with Bridgette Knapp winning the High Jump

The Pioneer Men had a great showing in the Hammer Throw. Christian Hanna, Joshua Landreth, Owen Bell, and Ian Bellar placed inside the top ten. In the 1500 Bryce and Blake Jarrell produced top-ten finishes for the Pioneers. Bryce finished fourth in a 46-man field and Blake was close behind in sixth.

The Vertklasse Invite will begin on Friday with the Hammer Throw.
