Pioneer Track and Field End Regular Season on a High Note

PHILIPPI, W.Va. - Glenville State Track and Field ended their final regular season meet on a high note this afternoon at Alderson Broaddus University. The Pioneer Men placed first out of the eight-team field defeating multiple MEC foes. Coach Dan Meyers's Women finished second just two points behind IUP. 

Men's Highlights

GSU had multiple first-place finishes in the field events. With a throw of 14.15 meters, Bradon Bowie finished first. Junior Ian Beller was close behind securing a one-two finish for Glenville. Beller and Bowie were able to secure another top-five finish later on in the discus. Jordan Holmes once again showed out in the long jump. Holmes placed first with a jump of 6.21 meters. 

In the 100-meter dash, both Isaiah Valentine and Bruce Williams qualified for the finals. During the finals, Valentine and Williams would only be separated by 0.08 of a second.  Isaiah with a time of 11.51 placed second with Bruce finishing fifth securing two top-five performances. Valentine also shinnied in the 200-meter dash placing second once more. 

Women's Highlights

Angela Ejimofor produced multiple top-five finishes for Glenville. In the 100-meter hurdles, Ejimofor qualified for the finals with a time of 15.81. During the finals, she was able to cut her time by 0.3 of a second to secure first. Ejimofor secured her second top-five finish in the 200-meter dash. Angela produced a time of 26.85 placing second out of the 13-man field. Koschinya Jefferson also had a solid day for the Lady Pioneers placing first in the 400 and second in the shot put. 

GSU's Women would still have two more first-place finishes at the Jim Seaton Invite. Adria Chapple with a jump of 10 meters secured a first-place finish. With Sadie Eddins close behind in second Glenville had their second one-two finish of the meet. Continuing her great start to her collegiate career Janel Mitchell once again won the 400-meter hurdles.
