GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Volleyball opens Mountain East Conference play tomorrow night against rival Fairmont State inside the Waco Center at 7 p.m. The Falcons won the only meeting last season 3-0.

FAIRMONT STATE FIGHTING FALCONS
The Fighting Falcons enter (6-8) and are currently on a four-game skid. Their last time out, FSU fell to PSAC foe Shepherd three sets to two.
Travis Hinkle is in his third season as Head Coach for Fairmont State. In 2022, the Falcons went (29-6, 13-4 MEC), earning the highest winning percentage in school history and qualifying for both the MEC Volleyball Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. Hinkle spent three seasons as HC at Notre Dame College before taking the job at FSU. He was also an assistant at West Liberty for six years and at West Virginia Wesleyan for two.
Three Falcons have 100 or more kills, led by Joey Borelle's 171 and Ellie Zuro's 143. FSU has used two setters as Jaianna Bouarouy has accumulated 287 assists and Kelsie Dangerfield has 194. Josie Skinn leads the team in digs with 278, 104 more than the closest Falcon.
GLENVILLE STATE PIONEERS
The Pioneers come in (4-7) overall after starting the season with four-straight losses. Glenville State last played over the weekend in the Bobcat Invitational, going 2-2 in the two-day tournament.
Katarzyna Niderla has 105 kills to lead GSU, followed by Rita Kelly's 74 and Sydney Goodrich's 55. Sarah Grainger is only growing her numbers every game, totaling 282 assists and a NCAA best 33 service aces. Lindsay Winkler (124) and Sydney Goodrich (115) are atop the team leaderboard for digs so far this season. Niderla has been impressive up front, racking up 52 blocks.
