Preview: Pioneers Close Season with Charleston at Home; Concord on the Road

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Volleyball has two games this week to close out the 2024 campaign as the Pioneers will host the University of Charleston for senior night on Tuesday (Nov. 12) at 7 p.m. and travel to Concord to finish the year on Friday (Nov. 15).

THE OPPENENTS
CHARLESTON
2024 Season
The Golden Eagles have a record of (23-6) overall with a (11-2) record in the MEC.

UC is led by Emma Shepherd as she has 308 kills on the year and the leading setters for the year have been Abby Avila (502 assists) and London Upchurch (490 assists). Defensively, Chloe Fortner has 335 digs to lead the team and at the net, Kate Strong has recorded 115 blocks.

CONCORD
2024 Season
The Mountain Lions have a record of (14-15) in 2024 with a (7-6) MEC mark.

Meg Williams has recorded 324 kills to lead the team with Chloe Thompson chipping in with 302. Paige Richmond has 581 assists to lead CU. Allie Davis has 512 digs and Kyndra Pilant has 113 blocks to lead the way.

THE PIONEERS

2024 Season
The Pioneers have a record of (3-23) in 2024, with a (1-12) mark in conference play.

Rita Kelly continues to lead the Pioneer attack with 228 kills while Keleigh Chrisman has recorded 164 kills on the year. Sadie Hill continues to be reliable as a setter for GSU as she has tallied 541 assists to lead the team. Morgan Stephenson has been active all year on the back line for the Pioneers working to a total of 209 digs on the year while Isabella Bailey has 184. Kelly has also been productive defensively with her blocking ability as she leads the team with 41 and Greta Petofi has chipped in with 37.
