Lady Pioneers Drain 15 Threes in 28-Point Victory Over Ursuline

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Women's Basketball team cruised to a 85-57 home victory against Ursuline College tonight to secure their fourth win of the season (4-1, 1-0 MEC), while Ursuline fell to (0-4) on the year. Never trailing throughout the game, the Lady Pioneers drained 15 three-pointers and forced 33 turnovers to secure the victory. 

The Lady Pioneers used a strong start to jump out to a 27-11 lead by the end of the first quarter. Glenville State continued to apply pressure throughout the second quarter, again limiting the Arrows to 11 points and holding them to 33.33% shooting, taking a 43-22 lead into the locker room.  

Glenville State continued the strong defensive performance in the 3rd quarter, allowing only 15 points. Fueled by this strong defensive effort, the Lady Pioneers took a 60-37 lead into the 4th quarter, where they would score 25 points and increase their lead to as much as 34 before the final buzzer sounded.   

Final Stats
Ursuline 
The Arrows were led in scoring by forward Riley Stopp with 13, while guard Kamryn Dziak contributed 10 points to their effort.  Guard Madyson Stottsberry contributed eight rebounds as well.  

Glenville State 
The Lady Pioneers registered 13 different players scoring a bucket, led by forward Tynasia Bunting with 13, continuing a string of now four-straight consecutive games scoring in double digits. Second-leading scorer, freshman Ashlyn Riley, contributed 10 points to record her third double-digit performance of the year. The Pioneers had a 3-way tie in leading rebounders with Bunting and guards Jade Salters and Nwando Okigbo all grabbing six boards on the night.  

Up Next For The Lady Pioneers 
The Lady Pioneers will travel to Institute this Saturday (Nov. 23) to take on West Virginia State, with the game tipping off at noon.
