FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women's Basketball team fell to the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State, 79-66, last night inside Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont.
Nwando Okigbo made a three and a two-point jump shot to lead GSU to a five-point advantage after the first ten minutes of action. However, multiple three pointers and steals from the Falcons allowed them to take a three-point lead into the half.
The second half would follow suit with the Lady Pioneers battling and after a Dejaan Schuler made three, the Lady Pioneers trailed by five after the third quarter. Missed chances would haunt GSU as they couldn't get their shots to fall and could not cut into the lead, eventually leading to the 79-66 defeat after FSU cashed in at the free throw to put the game away.

Leslie Huffman led the Falcons with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Alyssa DeAngelo had 16 points as well as six rebounds. Jalan Gibbs chipped in with 13 points in the win. Defensively, DeAngelo had two steals with Madeline Huffman and Gabby Reep recording two as well while Gibbs the team in blocks with two swats.
Glenville State
Nwando Okigbo led the Lady Pioneers with 19 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Ashlyn Riley with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Tynasia Bunting added seven points and five rebounds while Kenyah Stubbs had five points, seven rebounds and two assists. Riley led the team from deep as she shot 3-5 from behind the arc in the loss.
