Men’s Basketball Downed by NDC at Home

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Men's Basketball team lost at home tonight to Notre Dame College 88-77 in the Winter Homecoming game. The Pioneers forced the Falcons into 17 turnovers but struggled shooting the ball, finishing the night 36% from the field and 17% from three.

GSU scored just two points in the first seven minutes of the game, allowing NDC to jump out to a 15-2 advantage. The Pioneers trimmed the deficit to seven after the sluggish start, however the Falcons continued to shoot the ball well, increasing the lead to as much as 18 right before the final media timeout of the half. Trailing 45-27, Glenville closed out the final two minutes on a 10-0 run, cutting the NDC lead to 45-37 at the break.

The Pioneers came out of the locker room hot, gaining their first lead of the game (46-45) following a three from Dominiq Penn. NDC retook the lead shortly after but GSU stayed within six until the final seven minutes. The struggles that GSU experienced to start the game came back at the end as Notre Dame pulled away 88-77.
