FAIRMONT, W.Va. - The Glenville State Men's Basketball team fell to Fairmont State on the road 92-82 in Saturday MEC action. Both teams shot the ball well but it would be the turnovers that hurt the Pioneers as the Falcons forced 17 TO's and had 14 points off turnovers.
GSU was able to jump out to a 13-11 lead just five minutes into the game and by the under 10 media timeout, built an eight-point advantage (25-17). The Falcons continuously attempted to chip away at the lead but the Pioneers kept them at bay, holding onto a 49-41 lead going into the locker room.
Fairmont State tied the game at 60 with 13:32 left in the game and took their first lead since earlier in the 1st half at 69-68 following a three-pointer form Cameron Whiteside. GSU couldn't retake the lead, and FSU had answers for every Pioneer bucket to the end of the game, closing out the Pioneers 92-82.
The Final Stats
Jordan Turbo Smith had 19 points, five assists and five rebounds to lead the Pioneers. James Franklin and Antoine Boyd Jr. added 10 points each while Franklin grabbed five boards. Devin Collins finished with a team-high seven rebounds and nine points in the loss.
Tommy Williams led all scorers with 25 points. Zyon Dobbs (19 points), Cameron Whiteside (19 points) and David Jolinder (14 points) were all in double figures for the Falcons. Seth Younkin grabbed an astounding 15 rebounds with six points.
