"We are very proud of Coach Caldwell for this tremendous move in her career!" Glenville Athletic Director Jesse Skiles said. "As a GSU alumnus, she is a great ambassador for not just Glenville, but for the entire state of West Virginia. I also applaud Danny White and the University of Tennessee for making the decision to hire Kim. They are getting a successful and hard-working coach, who is an even better person."
The history runs deep with the University of Tennessee Women's Basketball program, winning eight National Championships, 35 SEC titles, 42 NCAA Tournament appearances, 18 Final Fours and 13 National Championship game appearances. Legendary coach Pat Summitt led the Lady Vols to all of their eight National Championships, with Coach Caldwell mentioning in her introductory press conference that "I will never be Pat Summitt, nobody can, but I will strive every day to be somebody she will be proud of."
