BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Glenville State Men's Cross Country team was selected seventh in the Mountain East conference preseason poll, the league announced today.
Defending Men's cross country champions, the University of Charleston, are the preseason favorites after capturing their sixth-straight MEC title last year. UC received 97 total points, along with seven first place votes. Behind them is Davis & Elkins, receiving 94 points and four first place votes.
Coach Dan Meyers is returning for his fifth season leading the Pioneers as they look to improve upon a predicted seventh place finish in the preseason poll. The Pioneers return their lone regional participant from last year in Bryan Utt, as he looks to anchor the Pioneer squad once again in 2024. Coach Meyers has brought in a total of eight freshman in this year's recruiting class.
Glenville State opens the season at the West Liberty Invite on September 5th in Wheeling, W.Va.
