Preview: Women’s Soccer Continues MEC Play with Davis & Elkins and Charleston

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Soccer will host Davis and Elkins College tomorrow (Sept.18) and travel to the University of Charleston on Sunday (Sept.22) as the Pioneers continue MEC play.

2024 Season
The Senators enter (0-3, 0-1 MEC) after their loss to Charleston on Sunday. Last season, Davis & Elkins finished their season (2-14-2, 1-12-2 MEC).

Keenan Schaeffer enters his first season as the HC of the Davis and Elkins Women's Soccer program after coming of a historic season at Maine Maritime Academy. Manoela Piraja leads the team in goals with one. Alexa Karsel leads the team with one assist on the season. Monica Birkelund has the most saves for the Senators with eight.

CHARLESTON
2024 Season
The University of Charleston enters is (1-2, 1-0 MEC) after winning their conference opener against Davis & Elkins on Sunday. Last season the Golden Eagles finished their season (18-1-2, 13-0-2 MEC) while also winning the MEC Championship and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.

Sarah Leiby is in her first season as the HC of the University of Charleston's Woman's Soccer program after spending one season as assistant coach for Golden Eagles. This year the Golden Eagles are led by Juliette Lucas in goals on the season with three. Frankie Morrow has Charleston's only assist of the season. Jordan Maynard has the most saves for the Golden Eagles with fifteen.
