GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Volleyball team looks to bounce back this week with two conference matchups. The Pioneers will travel to Elkins to take on the Senators on Tuesday (Oct. 1) and will return home to take on the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan Friday (Oct. 4).

DAVIS & ELKINS
2024 Season
The Senators come into this matchup with a (4-5) record overall and a (0-1) MEC record. However, D&E is riding a hot streak winning three out of their last four.

Julie Danner is in her first season leading the Senator Volleyball program. Offensively, the Davis & Elkins attack is led by Reanne DeBose, who has 115 kills and Melisa Ozsar, who has 53 kills. Haylie Marumoto is the leading setter with 250 assists on the season. Defensively, the Senators are led by Clara Caralt, who has 94 digs, and Maddie Edicola with 88. At the net, Gracjana Rozanska has 19 blocks to lead the Senators.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2024 Season
The Bobcats have started the season off strong, building to a (10-4) record overall, with their first MEC contest coming on October 1^st.

The Bobcats are led by Nancy Wheeler, who is in her fifth season at the helm for WVWC. WVWC is led offensively by Bhrooke Axe's 142 kills, Emily Dennison's 126 kills and Olivia Albrecht's 112 kills. Jalynn West has been a reliable setter as she has gathered 506 assists thus far. Defensively, the Bobcats are led by Alexis Moeschler's 206 digs, and Dennison has tallied 129. The Bobcats are also strong at the net, as Axe comes in with 43 blocks and Dennison has 39.

THE PIONEERS

Glenville State has recorded a (2-9, 0-1 MEC) so far and are looking to right the ship this week.

GSU is led offensively by Rita Kelley, Malerie Ross and Keleigh Chrisman, tallying 106, 74 and 63 kills respectively. Sadie Hill is leading the team is assists, as she has 244 on the year, averaging 6.5 assists per set. Defensively, Isabella Bailey has 86 digs and Bryanne Tustin has 80 to lead the Pioneers. Greta Petofi is leading in blocks with 19, follwed by Kelley with 18 and Deniz Selen-Yazar has 14.
