GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Soccer will welcome Lake Erie College to Morris Stadium tomorrow (Sept. 8) for the Pioneers season opener. The two squads met last year, tying 2-2 at Lake Erie.

2024 Season
The Storm enter (0-1) after opening the new season with a 2-0 loss at Roberts Wesleyan on Thursday. LEC finished the 2023 season (3-14-1, 2-12 GMAC), winning their final two games of the regular season over Malone and Ursuline.

Carl Contrascier will be coaching his second game as the HC of the Lake Erie Women's Soccer program after recently serving as an assistant coach with the men's program at Case Western Reserve. Leonie Witt led the team in shots on Thursday with three, including two shots on goal. Ainsley Mackenzie also had two shots on goal. Morgan Vanmeter recorded three saves in the season opener.

2023 Season
The Pioneers went (5-11-3, 3-10-2 MEC) in 2023, qualifying for the MEC Tournament for the first time in school history.

Quick Look at 2024
J.R. Dodson is in his fourth season as Head Coach of the Pioneers. Last year's five wins marked the most under Dodson and a school record for wins in a season. Merel Smets (All-MEC Second Team in 2023) and Aitana Viejo (All-MEC Freshman Team & Honorable Mention in 2023) headline the returners for the Pioneers. Dodson dipped into the transfer portal and picked up a selection of international, nationwide and local talent to this year's roster.
