GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Men's Basketball team fell to No. 10 West Liberty, 103-96, in close game that came down to the wire. The Pioneers record now stands at (9-7, 4-5 MEC).
In the first half, the Hilltoppers would start the half out on a 15-3 run as the Pioneers struggled on offense. The Pioneers stayed resilient, answering back with a 20-0 run to give them a five-point lead with just seven minutes left in the half. West Liberty's full court press created opportunities on offense that they would take advantage of giving, them a twelve-point lead going into the half with a score of 45-33.
For the first five minutes of the second half, GSU tried to eat away at the Hilltoppers lead but were unsuccessful until the fourteen-minute mark where they finally got the lead to single digits. It seemed like every time the Pioneers would get the lead to within five points, West Liberty had an answer. At the ten-minute mark, the Pioneers tied the game and at the nine-minute mark, would eventually take their first lead of the game. For the rest of the half, the Pioneers kept scratching and clawing but it wouldn't be enough as they fell to the #10 Hilltoppers by seven, 103-96.

The Hilltoppers had five players score in double digits, led by Concord transfer JJ Harper's 19 points. On the boards, the Hilltoppers were led by Kameron Tinsley, who had eight rebounds. Kyler D'Augustino shared the ball the most for WLU as he accumulated six assists in the win. On defense, the Hilltoppers were led by Lanyc Shuler (4 steals), Dante Spadafora (3 steals), JJ Harper (1 block), and Vadim Clanet (1 block).

The Pioneers also had five players score in double digits. Freshman Ammar Maxwell and guard Samier Kinsler led all scorers with 21 points apiece. Maxwell and Kinsler contributed in many ways tonight as along with their point production, Maxwell added eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal and Kinsler had four rebounds, five assists, one block and four steals. Prince Mosengo managed to get a double-double tonight with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Devin Collins and freshman Elijah Redfern both had 14 points in the defeat. Mosengo shot 66% from the field tonight on nine shot attempts wbile Collins shot 75% from three on four shot attempts and Kinsler shot 45% from three on eleven shot attempts.
