FROSTBURG, Md. – The Glenville State Men's Basketball team ended their three-game losing skid on the backs of Ammar Maxwell and Ziri Blackwood combining for 43 points as the Pioneers defeated Frostburg State, 76-72. With the win, the Pioneers have reached double-digit wins on the year.
In the first half, the game started out slowly as neither team would hit double digits until the 12-minute mark when the Bobcats took a five-point lead. The Bobcats advantage would grow to seven before the Pioneers offense finally started rolling. The Pioneers trimmed the deficit down to two by halftime, trailing 31-29 going into the locker room.
In the second half, the Pioneers quickly tied the game up and eventually took the lead just five minutes into the half. The Pioneers fought to keep their lead and halfway through the second half, would lead by nine points. The Bobcats refused to go down without a fight as just a minute later, Frostburg State dwindled the GSU lead to just three. Glenville State continued to answer back to any efforts the Bobcats had, eventually prevailing with timely baskets and free throws down the stretch, securing the 76-72 win over the Bobcats.

The Bobcats led tonight by Jaden Bakers' 22 points. Baker, while leading the team in points, would also lead the team in assists with five. Baker and Koby Baptiste combined for seven of the teams twelve steals as well. Baptiste was also a monster on the boards, collecting an astounding 16 rebounds. Three Bobcats had a block apiece in the loss.

Freshman Ammar Maxwell led the Pioneers with 22 points and Ziri Blackwood produced 21 points off the bench as the two would combine for 43 of the teams 76 points. Blackwood also contributed on defense, leading the team in steals with three. Devin Collins and Gus Eddy would score ten points each for the Pioneers while Collins grabbed nine rebounds. Prince Mosengo pulled down 10 rebounds to lead GSU on the glass. Collins and freshman Don Colon-Lewis would have the Pioneers only blocks of the night.
