THE OPPONENTS
SALEM
2025 Season
It's been a challenging year for Salem (1–10), who come into Wednesday's match on a seven-game losing skid. The Tigers haven't scored since their 3–1 loss to Wheeling on September 24 and have been shut out in six straight matches.

Quick Look at the Tigers
The Tigers' lone win came in mid-September against Washington Adventist. Salem has struggled on both ends of the field, conceding 50+ goals on the year, but has shown flashes of energy early in matches. This will be their second home match in October, and they'll look to snap their scoreless drought.

WHEELING
2025 Season
The Cardinals enter the week (2–5–4) overall and (1–3–4) in MEC play. They've battled through several close games, tying with strong conference teams such as Frostburg State, Fairmont State and Charleston. They're unbeaten in their last two contests and have been difficult to break down at home.

Quick Look at The Cardinals
Wheeling has tied four matches on their home turf and forced results against top-tier opponents. Their ability to grind out draws makes them a tough opponent, but Glenville State will have the home-field advantage this time around. The Pioneers and Cardinals sit close in the standings, making this an important late-season matchup.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025 Season
Glenville State (3–7–1, 3–5–1 MEC) is looking to bounce back after a hard-fought loss to Fairmont State on Sunday (Oct. 12). The Pioneers have shown steady growth through the middle part of the season, picking up key wins over West Liberty, Point Park and West Virginia Wesleyan, along with a road draw at Davis & Elkins.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
Solares Solano continues to lead the attack with five goals on the season, while Glenville's back line and goalkeeper unit have stepped up in several big performances, including two clean sheets. With these two matches, Glenville has a prime chance to climb the MEC table and close the stretch run with momentum.
