Volleyball Downed by Division Leader Concord on the Road

ATHENS, W.Va. – The GSU Volleyball team fell at Concord last night (Oct. 14) in three sets in Mountain East Conference action.

In set one, the Pioneers would race out to an early lead after kills from Keleigh Chrisman and Kaiya Lian making the score 11-5 GSU, however a five-to-zero run by the Mountain Lions put them right back in it at 13-12, and another run would propel CU to the victory in the first set, 25-20. In the second set, the Pioneers found themselves trailing early, but after a kill from Chrisman the score was knotted at nine, and a point from Cali Queen put the Pioneer deficit at just one point late in the stanza. From there, CU would win the last six points, taking set two 25-18. The third set was back-and-forth early, but the Pioneers would have a slim lead at 11-10 but couldn't overtake Concord and get back in the match, falling in set three, 25-22, and losing the match, 3-0.
