GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Football has announced their honorary captain for tomorrow's (Oct. 18) Homecoming game against Concord at Memorial Stadium in Summersville, W.Va.
State Supreme Court Justice Thomas Ewing, a 2001 graduate of Glenville State and former standout on the Men's Basketball team will be doing the honors.Â
Ewing came to Glenville from Midland Trail High School where he was a two-sport all-stater in football and basketball. He played basketball at Glenville and became one of the greatest perimeter shooters in the history of the program, closing his career #8 on the school's all-time three-point list.
After Glenville and WVU, Ewing embarked on a long and successful career as a lawyer and a Circuit Court judge. In August, he was appointed by Governor Morrissey as a State Supreme Court Justice.
A true icon both at Glenville State and along the Route 19 Corridor...let's give a big hand to Judge Thomas Ewing!!!
Judge Ewing is accompanied today by Glenville's 26
th President, Dr. Manchin. Manchin is in his sixth year as President at Glenville, and has ushered in a true Renaissance of the Pioneer Nation. After a long career in both politics in education, a career that included stints as Superintendent in three separate counties, Dr. Manchin has ascended Glenville forward in the world of Higher Education.Â
