GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Volleyball will host two conference matchups this week with MEC southern division foes West Virginia State and Charleston. The games are scheduled for Tuesday the 7th and Friday the 10th. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.

THE OPPONENTS
WEST VIRGINIA STATE
2025 Season
The Yellow Jackets are (6-8) overall and (1-2) in the MEC, coming off of a 3-0 win over Davis & Elkins on Friday (Oct. 3) night.

They are led by Alyssa Hill, who has 165 kills, and Nicole Gertner Custodio, who has 114. Emma Pomaret leads the team in assists with 366 assists, helping boost the offensive attack. Defensively, Lilly Adkins leads the team in digs with 238 and Custodio leads in blocks as well with 69.

CHARLESTON
2025 Season
The Golden Eagles are currently (9-9) overall and (2-1) MEC, previously falling to UVA Wise, 3-1, on Saturday (Oct. 4). UC also went (1-1) in MEC play last week, losing to WVWC but defeating Concord.

UC is spearheaded by Patrycja Majos (129 kills) and Sophia Knowles (127 kills) while Abby Avila has an impressive 452 assists to lead the team. Defensively, Chloe Fortner has 225 digs and Kate Strong has 48 blocks, both leading the team.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025 Season
Currently holding an 8-9 record overall and (1-2) MEC the Pioneers are coming off a loss against WVWC last Friday.

Kaiya Lian leads the team in kills with 133 while Mikayla Curry has 94 and Rita Kelly is up 91 on the year. Sadie Hill recently recorded her 1,000th assist for her career, and leads the team with 203 on the year. Irmak Bezek has chipped in 167 as well. On defense, Cali Queen has 185 digs to pace the Pioneers with Ava O'Hare has pitching in with 179 and Curry is leading the team at the net with 46 blocks.
