GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Men's Basketball extended their win streak to three after a 76-69 road victory against Davis & Elkins tonight. The Pioneers record now stands at (13-10, 7-8 MEC).
In the first half, the Pioneers started the game off on a 9-0 run and would keep the Senators scoreless in the first four minutes of the game. The Senators answered back with a 10-0 run of their own to give them a one-point lead with fourteen-minutes left to play. GSU kept a one possession lead until five minutes left in the half when the Senators took the lead and went into the half with a four-point cushion, 39-35.
The Senators increased their lead to six points right after the break but at the 18-minute mark, the Pioneers would tie the game up and at the sixteen-minute mark, would get the advantage back. After getting their lead back, the Pioneers went on a 9-0 run to give them a nine-point lead. With four minutes of play left, Glenville State extended their lead to double digits. The Senators finial push would get the Pioneers lead to four but GSU's work on defense and at the free throw line pushed them to the 76-69 win.

The Senators were led in scoring tonight by Charleston Ponds. who had 17 points while adding three rebounds and three assists to his stat line. Ben Gilliam added 14 points of his own along with six rebounds and three assists. Emmanuel Oladeru managed to grab a team high nine rebounds for the Senators tonight. Dontrell Jenkins was the last double-digit scorer for the Senators with 13 points.

Freshmen Ammar Maxwell and Don Colon-Lewis led the Pioneers in scoring with Maxwell contributing 23 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals while Colon-Lewis had 18 points, eight rebounds and one steal. Ziri Blackwood had an efficient game as he scored eight points while shooting 3-4 from the field and 2-3 from the three point line.
