ELKINS, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women's Basketball rolled to a 91-56 road conference win over Davis & Elkins as the Lady Pioneers had 14 steals and never let the Senators in the game from the opening tip.
GSU jumped out to a 18-4 first quarter lead with Tynasia Bunting making the first basket of the night from deep while Jade Salters and Dream Cherry chipped in during the first quarter of play. In the second, the lead would stay around 14 points the whole way as GSU and D&E were trading points back and forth. Scoring in the second frame for the blue and white were Nwando Okigbo, Kenyah Stubbs and Jhakia Gist, making the halftime score 34-22 in favor of GSU.
In the third, the road team took control of the game, scoring 30 points and forcing seven Senator turnovers. At the end of three quarters, the Lady Pioneers led 64-35 and the game was out of reach as the home team could not cut into the large deficit. GSU kept them at arm's length the final 10 minutes and secured the victory, 91-56.

Kylie Morris led the Senators with 14 points while shooting 6-10 from the floor. Jahniya Marion had nine and three rebounds, Josiany Canales had eight and four assists and Alexis Smith also had eight points while shooting 4-4 at the free-throw line.
Glenville State
Tynasia Bunting had a big night, scoring 16 points and pulling down 12 rebounds to pace the Lady Pioneers while Jade Salters had 13 and was perfect from the field, shooting 6-6 on the night. Dream Cherry, Nwando Okigbo and Kenyah Stubbs all had 12 points apiece with Okigbo grabbing eight rebounds, Cherry notching four rebounds and three assists and Stubbs recording three rebounds and dishing out one helper. Ashlyn Riley chipped in with eight and shot 2-5 from beyond the arc and Stevi Yancy had seven points and six rebounds.

The Lady Pioneers return home to the Waco Center for Winter Homecoming to host West Virginia Wesleyan at 1 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 15).
