GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Janae Scott and Zac Bayor have been tabbed GoMart Pioneers of the Week, the GSU Athletic Department announced.

Scott, a junior out of Doylestown, Pa., won her second-consecutive MEC Indoor Championship in the shot put yesterday (Feb. 24). The junior had a throw of 13.16m in the event, defeating the second-place finisher, who had a throw of 12.28m. Scott was also a top five finisher in the weight throw at #5 with a throw of 14.43m.

Bayor, a senior out of Lakeland Ranch, Fla., started all four games for the Pioneers this weekend, going 6-for-10 with 2 HR, 4 RBI and five walks. In the final three games of the series, Bayor had two hits, including a 2-for-2, 1 HR and 3 RBI performance in the final game of the series with a clutch 2 RBI single with two outs that tied the game up in the bottom of the 6th before GSU walked it off in the 7th.

Kupfner, a senior out of Parkersburg, W.Va., had an historic weekend at the MEC Championships in Huntington. Kupfner placed 2nd in the Men's Heptathlon with 4274 points, which is also good enough for second all-time in GSU history. His 8.16 finish in the 60m hurdles prelims broke the school record as well.
