Janae Scott Wins Shot Put, Eight Other Pioneers Earn All-Conference Honors at MEC Indoor Championships

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Glenville State Indoor Track & Field teams crowned one champion and had nine total all-conference honorees at yesterday's MEC Indoor Championships. As a team, the women took 7th while the men placed 8th.

MEC CHAMPION
Janae Scott won her second-consecutive indoor championship and was All-MEC First Team in the shot put with a throw of 13.36m!

ALL-MEC SECOND TEAM
Aaron Kupfner placed 2nd in the men's heptathlon and moved into second all-time in school history with 4274 points.
John Bowen was 2nd in the pole vault at 3.95m.
Jordyn Taylor also earned 2nd in the pole vault, finishing at 3.20m.

ALL-MEC HONORABLE MENTION
Braden Hashman placed 3rd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.27, also good enough for second all-time at GSU.
Charlie Bauman's 15.42m throw in the shot put made him 3rd in the event to earn all-conference and take the school record.
The Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team of Caden Davis, Alex Rogerson, Dylan Blackshire and Nick Pitchford finished 3rd and broke the school record 10:14.68.

NEW SCHOOL RECORDS
Aaron Kupfner had a time of 8.16 in the 60m hurdles prelims to break the school record.
Patrick Reilly broke the school record in the 5000m run with a time of 15:11.67.

ALL-TIME LISTS
Addy Cottrill improved her second all-time mark in the weight throw, finishing at 15.33m.
Jacob Bauman moved into fifth all-time in the shot put with a finishing mark of 14.70m.

NEW PERSONAL RECORDS
Janae Scott set a new PR in the weight throw at 14.43m.
Bridgette Knapp set a new personal best in the pole vault at 2.45m.
Keleigh Chrisman PR'd in the shot put with a throw of 10.89m.
Casey Mahoney's throw of 13.93m in the shot put was a new personal record.
Isaac Smith recorded a new PR in the long jump at 6.49m.
Bruce Williams had a new personal record in the 200m dash, crossing at 22.47.

Up Next For The Pioneers
The Pioneers indoor season has concluded as their next time out in competition will be outside at the 49er Classic in Charlotte on Mar. 21.
