GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Men's Basketball team fell on the road at Charleston tonight, 84-69. As it stands now, the Pioneers will be the #6 seed in the MEC Tournament with Frostburg State's loss tonight. GSU's record now stands at (15-12, 9-10 MEC).
In the first half, the Golden Eagles would get things started with a tip in from Obinna Ugwuakazi. The Pioneers answered back with a three from Prince Mosengo. The Golden Eagles gained a small lead, but the Pioneers would fight back. Neither team was able to get an edge on the other as they went back-and-forth, being tied at 37 at the break.
In the second half, both teams would go scoreless for the first two minutes of action. The Golden Eagles were the first to score in the second half off a layup by Dwaine Jones. This layup sparked a 14-3 run by the Golden Eagles but the Pioneers fought hard and at the ten-minute mark. would tie the game back up. However, Charleston gained their advantage back with a 16-0 run. This time. GSU couldn't find an answer to the Golden Eagles run and would lose the game, 84-69.

The Golden Eagles were led tonight by Dwaine Jones, who had 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Ja'Corey Lipkins led the Golden Eagles in scoring tonight with 22 points. CJ Meredith contributed 12 points, six rebounds and two steals while Zach Loveday flirted with a double-double as he grabbed eight rebounds and scored eight points.

The Pioneers were led in tonight's game by freshman Ammar Maxwell, who had 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Ziri Blackwood had eleven points tonight while shooting fifty percent from the three-point line. Freshman Elijah Redfern played well on both sides of the ball by scoring 10 points and getting two steals. Freshman Don Colon-Lewis was close to a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds in the loss.
