Pioneers Use Redfern's 20 Points to Secure Big Win at Concord, Concluding Regular Season

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Men's Basketball team finished up the regular season with a double-digit victory over Concord tonight, 96-78. The Pioneers end the regular season with a record of (16-12, 10-10 MEC) and will be the No. 6 seed in the MEC Tournament.

In the first half, the Mountain Lions would get things started with a two from Rene Diop. The Pioneer answered back the very next possession and went on a 10-2 run to give them the lead. Concord got the Pioneers lead down to three points but the Pioneers stayed resilient and increased their lead to double digits. The Pioneers would take their momentum into the half, leading the Mountain Lions, 41-29.

The Mountain Lions managed to get the Pioneers advantage to ten points three minutes into the second half, however Glenville State refused to let up on the Mountain Lions and kept their foot on the gas. When the Pioneers lead climbed to 20 at the twelve-minute mark, the game was seemingly over. GSU was on fire and had an answer for everything Concord threw at them. The Pioneers would walk out victorious in their last game of the regular season, beating the Mountain Lions, 96-78.
