GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Basketball is looking to get back on track after having their first (0-2) week of the year. The Lady Pioneers will host Point Park for the PPU Pioneers first-ever visit to the Waco Center on Wednesday (Feb 5) before the team will head north to face Salem in a non-conference matchup on Saturday (Feb. 8).

THE OPPONENTS
POINT PARK
2024-25 Season
PPU comes into this matchup with a (6-13) overall record and a (4-9) mark in MEC play, coming off a 15-point defeat at West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
Head Coach
Dave Scarborough is in his third season leading the PPU WBB program. Scarborough came to Point Park from the Division I ranks, coaching at Mount St. Mary's as an assistant.
Quick Look at The Pioneers
Alexis Giles leads the team in scoring, coming in averaging 12.4 points per game while shooting 36% from the field. Camille Fultz averages 10.8 PPG as well as a team leading 7.3 boards per game. Emma Pavelek averages just over ten per night and is shooting almost 40% from the field.
SALEM
2024-25 Season
The Tigers are (1-19) coming into this week's games and are (1-9) inside their home gym, previously falling to Davis & Elkins on Saturday.
Head Coach
Nikayla Edgell is in her second season at the helm of the Salem WBB program. Edgell led the Tigers to seven wins in her first season as HC in 2023-24. She came to SU after serving as an assistant coach at Alderson Broaddus and Salem.
Quick Look at The Tigers
Carine Pinkney and Lilliani Krause are both averaging over 16 points per game for Salem. Pinkney is averaging 16.9 while shooting 41% from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc. Krause is averaging 16.3 and is shooting 50% from the field while grabbing over six rebounds per game. Cassnadra Smith is the other double-figure scorer for the Tigers with 10.8 PPG and grabbing over four rebounds a night.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2024-25 Season
The (13-7, 8-5 MEC) Lady Pioneers are coming off two tough losses against Frostburg State and Fairmont State, Head Coach Emily Stoller's team is looking to get back on the winning side this week. Currently sitting at fourth in the MEC, GSU is looking to make up some ground and get as high as possible for a good seed at the Mountain East tournament next month.
Quick Look at The Lady Pioneers
Tynasia Bunting is still leading the way with almost 14 points per game, six rebounds and 31 total steals. Nwando Okigbo is continuing her strong freshman campaign with 12.6 points a night and just under 11 rebounds per game. Dream Cherry has been a solid piece to this team all year as she is averaging over 12 points and is shooting the ball well, knocking down 49 three-pointers on the year. Jade Salters is averaging eight points but is the team's leader in steals with 39. Ashlyn Riley and Kenyah Stubbs continue to provide quality minutes as freshman with Riley scoring seven a game and Stubbs scoring 6.9 a game.
