GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Men's Basketball held Point Park to under 60 points and picked up a much-needed conference win last night, 82-59. The Pioneers record now stands at (11-10, 6-8 MEC).
In the first half, PPU would start the game on a 5-0 run. The Pioneers would answer back with an 18-0 run to give them a thirteen-point lead seven minutes into the game. PPU would try to fight back but the Pioneers kept their feet on the peddle. Glenville State's late 19-9 run would give them a twenty-point lead going into the half, 49-29.
In the second half, PPU started off strong with a 5-0 run in an effort to cut away at the Pioneers lead. PPU eventually got their deficit to 11 points with eleven minutes left in the game. The Pioneers went on a 16-6 run to keep Point Park at bay and extend their advantage to 21. Glenville State eventually wrapped up the season sweep of PPU, winning 82-59.

The Pioneers were led in scoring tonight by guard Kaden Warner, who scored 22 points in the loss. The big man, Nazareth Fisher, earned himself a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Fisher also had the teams only block on the night. Aidan Anderson flirted with a double-double as he would finish with eight points and nine rebounds. Aiden Miller led the team in steals with two.
Glenville State
The Pioneers were led by freshman Ammar Maxwell, who had 22 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Prince Mosengo was dominant with 14 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Devin Collins was one rebound shy of a double-double as he finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Elijah Redfern finished rounded out the Pioneers with nine points, three rebounds and three assists.

Glenville State travels to Salem on Saturday (Feb. 8) to play in the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 4:00 pm.
