GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Men's Basketball team won their second game in a row and completed the season sweep of Salem tonight, 84-81. The Pioneers record now stands at (12-10, 6-8 MEC).
In the first half, the Pioneers would get things started with two free throws from Prince Mosengo. The Tigers answered back with a three and the two teams went back-and-forth until a 11-2 run by GSU would give the Pioneers a 10-point lead. The Tiger stayed relentless and managed to claw their way back, tying the game up. The Pioneers, however, didn't let the Tigers take the lead and eventually gain their ten-point lead back going into the half, 44-34.
In the second half, the Pioneers scored right out of the locker room to increase their lead to twelve points. The Tigers would go on a 7-1 run to get the Glenville State lead to just five after seven minutes of play. A three from Devin Collins got the Pioneers the lead back to eight before the Tigers managed to get the GSU lead to three a couple times. With five minutes remaining, Glenville State managed to get the advantage up to double digits once agian. The Tigers would find themselves back in the game as they managed to decrease the deficit to just four points with fifty-three seconds to play. With eight seconds left, the Pioneers lead was cut to just one point but two free throws from Elijah Redfern gave the Pioneers the win, 84-81.

The Tigers were led in scoring tonight by Daquan Coleman, who had 22 points. Right behind him in scoring was Jalen Barnes, who had 18 points. Tyree Davis led the team on the boards with 10 rebounds. Davis and Kevin Constant led the team in assists with two apiece. Constant also led the team on defense with three steals and a block.
Glenville State
The Pioneers were led by Devin Collins, who flirted with a double-double as he had 25 points and nine rebounds. Collins also added two steals and a block to his stat line. The freshmen all scored double digits tonight with Eilijah Redfern and Ammar Maxwell both dropping 14 points and Don Colon-Lewis adding 13 points. Prince Mosengo also lingered around a double-double with eight points and 12 boards.

Glenville State travels to Davis & Elkins on Wednesday (Feb. 12) to play in the McDonnell Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
