SALEM, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers used a high scoring first half to guide them to victory Saturday afternoon on the road versus Salem, 89-65.
The Lady Pioneers took a stranglehold on the game from the get-go as they scored 27 points in the first ten minutes with baskets from Ashlyn Riley, Jhakia Gist, Dream Cherry and Stevi Yancy. GSU would outscore Salem by six in the second frame and have a 16-point lead at halftime. In the third, Tynasia Bunting opened the scoring with two good layups and the Lady Pioneers held Salem at arms length for the remainder of the game, closing this victory out handily, 89-65.

Carmen Vasquez had 25 points and 16 rebounds as she was 9-10 from the free throw line. Liliani Krause had 21 points and seven rebounds while Cassandra Smith finished with 12 points and four rebounds on 5-9 shooting from the field.
Glenville State
Stevi Yancy had her most points in a GSU uniform as she netted 18 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds while knocking down four shots from downtown. Tynasia Bunting had 16 points and was perfect from the free-throw line, shooting 4-4. Ashlyn Riley scored in double figures with 11 and she also grabbed six rebounds. Mycala Carney chipped in with nine, Dream Cherry had eight and Ahsha Spencer had seven points in the win.
