GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Kylie Burdick, Zailees Seda and Nick Johnson have earned Pioneers of the Week presented by GoMart, the GSU Athletic Department announced.

Burdick, a junior out of Cincinnati, Ohio, made four starts this past week and went (3-1) with 17.1 innings pitched and 13 strikeouts. Burdick started out MEC play with two victories over Charleston and West Virginia State, going five innings with just one run (earned) and four hits against the Yellow Jackets. She was also MEC Co-Pitcher of the Week

Seda, a sophomore transfer from Saint Peter's, was a key piece to another important week for the Pioneers, who went (6-2) with a nationally ranked win over Indianapolis on Monday and defeated Charleston on Friday. Seda led the way for GSU, going 10-for-25 (.400) with three walks, two doubles and four RBIs. Seda recorded three games of two or more hits including a three-hit performance against Lake Erie and a four-hit performance against WVSU in game one of their DH. She was also MEC Co-Player of the Week.

Johnson, a native of Parkersburg, W.Va., became the fourth Pioneer in GSU Wrestling history to become an All-American as he was the highest placing grappler with a fifth-place finish at 197 pounds. Johnson won his first two matches on Friday to reach the semifinals. Johnson would lose to eventual national champion Derek Blubaugh in the semis before capping off his 2024-25 campaign with a win in the 5th place match.
