CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Golf standout
Kerri-Anne Cook has been named Mountain East Conference Player & Freshman of the Year, the league announced. Cook was also unanimously selected to the All-MEC First Team.
The Oceana, W.Va. native added to her already impressive MEC Fall Championship performance with a (-2) in round one and (+3) in a chilly round two to finish at (+1) for the tournament. The freshman had a five-round average of 74.8, notching a five-shot advantage over Charleston's Lucia Martin, who finished behind Cook.
Cook placed first in the MEC Fall Championship and MEC Spring Classic, helping propel the Pioneers to an MEC Championship in the fall and a first-place finish in the spring.
