Janae Scott Wins Fourth-Straight MEC Championship, Four Other Pioneers Earn Podium Finish

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Glenville State Track & Field teams wrapped up the 2025 season at the Mountain East Conference Outdoor Championships this week, crowning one champion and placing four other Pioneers on the podium.

MEC CHAMPION
Janae Scott won the shot put championship for the fourth-straight time (two indoor, two outdoor) and broke the school record with a throw of 13.47m!

PODIUM FINISHES
Janae Scott was also a podium finisher in the discus throw, finishing 2nd with a throw of 41.90m.

Jordyn Taylor earned a silver medal with a 2nd place finish in the pole vault at 3.20m.

Natalie Barr placed 3rd in the 800m run and broke the school record, crossing the finish line at 2:15.85.

Aaron Kupfner was a podium finisher in the 110m hurdles, notching 3rd place at 14.78.

Charlie Bauman set a personal best and finished 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 15.91m.

OTHER HIGH PLACEMENTS
Addy Cottrill placed 6th in the shot put at 12.28m, 4th in the discus at 38.74m and 6th in the hammer throw at 45.50m.
Jenna Barnett took 5th in the 3000m steeple with a time of 11:51.75.
Bridgette Knapp was 5th in the high jump at 1.50m.
Braden Hashman was #5 in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.07.
Patrick Reilly took 6th in the 10000m run, crossing at 32:01.30
Casey Mahoney notched a 6th place nod and had new PR in the discus throw at 41.95m.
The 4x100m relay team of Bruce Williams, Braden Hashman, Isaac Smith and Rodney Francois finished 6th.

NEW PERSONAL BESTS
Kamryn Armstrong PR'd in the 10000m run at 43:39.10.
Savannah Cunningham set a personal best in the 400m dash at 1:02.06.
Jeremy Taylor (48.16m) and Michael Galaviz (45.48m) both PR'd in the javelin. 
Casey Mahoney recorded a new personal best in the shot put (14.21m).
Jackson Mallett had a personal record in the 3000m steeple at 10:17.54.

As a whole, the men placed 9th and the women placed 6th in the Championship.
