Preview: Volleyball Set for UC/WVSU Crossover this Weekend

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Volleyball travels to Charleston for the UC/WVSU Crossover to compete against four non-conference opponents this weekend (Sept. 12-13). The Pioneers are looking to improve on their impressive (4-1) start to the '25 season.

THE OPPONENTS
EAST STROUDSBURG
2025 Season
Currently holding a (2-2) record, the Warriors are led by Anna Coulter, who leads the team offensively with 41 kills while Allison Birtcil has pitched in with 34. The Warriors feature one setter, Katalin Kovacs, as she has 121 assists thus far while Marta Leeland has 32 digs to lead the team.

KENTUCKY WESLEYAN
2025 Season
Coming in at (0-3), the Panthers are led by Hadley Wolfe with 25 kills with Emmy Goering pitching in 18 and Grace Carter has 13. Ana De Sevilla leads KWC with 41 assists while Wolfe also leads the team in blocks with nine and Goering has 19 digs.

ROBERTS WESLEYAN
2025 Season
The RedHawks are coming into the weekend at (0-4) as Camryn Karelus leads the team with 43 kills and Morgan Burnett has chipped in 20. Ryan Hull has 63 assists to lead the way and Sierra George has pitched in 18. Julia Dufkova has 41 digs to lead the RedHawks and Rachel Dixon has seven blocks.

SHEPHERD
2025 Season
Holding a (2-1) record, the Rams are led by Ada McCoy's 37 kills while Sophia Ryan has 33 and Rylee Lenz has 21. Macy Buso has 98 assists to pace the team and Madigan Faircloth has 67 digs with Ryan producing eight blocks on the year.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025 Season
The Pioneers come in (4-1) after defeating WVU Tech on Tuesday night, 3-0. Kaiya Lian leads the GSU in kills with 37 with Rita Kelly right behind her with 36, Mikayla Curry has 32, and Deniz Selen Yazar has 25. Elitsa Peneva has 65 assists and nine service aces to lead the team, and Sadie Hill has chipped in with 59 assists on the year. Defensively, Cali Queen has 36 digs and Ava O'Hare has 35 while Curry has ten blocks, Greta Petofi and Selen Yazar have added eight blocks as well.
