Preview: Pioneer Volleyball Set for Divisional Play this Week

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Volleyball prepares for two MEC divisional matchups this week as the Pioneers will host Davis & Elkins on Tuesday (Sept. 30) and travel to Buckhannon to take on West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday (Oct. 3).

THE OPPONENTS
DAVIS & ELKINS
2025 Season
The Senators come into the game with a (0-11) record and (0-1) mark in the MEC, losing to Point Park in their last outing.

Ozsar Melisa leads the team with 56 kills while Christine Rangel has 53 and Keira Robinson has 140 assists on the year. Defensively, Neve Norris has 121 digs, and Braelyn Brenneman has 21 blocks.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2025 Season
The Bobcats are coming into the week with a (8-4) record and have a matchup with Charleston on Tuesday night before they will face off with the Pioneers. WVWC and GSU faced off earlier in the season in a non-conference bout with the Pioneers winning 3-2.

Bhrooke Axe leads the team in kills with 164 while MacKenna Halfin has 145 and Claire Wheeler has tallied 295 assists on the year. On defense, Alexis Moeschler has 180 digs, Emily Denison has 157 and also leads the team in blocks with 35.

2025 Season
Coming into the week with a (7-8) overall record and falling to Fairmont State their conference opener, the Pioneers are looking to get back to their winning ways in crucial conference games.

Glenville State is led by Kaiya Lian offensively, as she has 120 kills on the year, while Rita Kelly has 86 and Mikayla Curry has 82. Sadie Hill leads the team in assists while Irmak Bezek has pitched in 156, and Elitsa Peneva has 149. Defensively, Cali Queen and Ava O'Hare both have 156 digs on the year while Curry has 40 blocks at the net.
