THE OPPONENTS
DAVIS & ELKINS (5–7, 2–3 MEC)
2025–26 Season
Davis & Elkins enters Wednesday night hovering right around .500 in both overall and conference play, having played one of the more balanced schedules in the MEC to this point. The Senators average 82.8 points per game and have outscored opponents by a slim margin on the season, often relying on efficiency and depth rather than tempo.

D&E has been particularly competitive at home, where they've shown the ability to stretch the floor, share the ball, and capitalize on turnovers. Their offense shoots 46.6% from the field and moves the ball well, averaging over 13 assists per game.

What to Watch

  • A physical frontcourt that rebounds at a similar rate to opponents
  • Multiple double-figure scorers capable of taking over stretches

Wednesday's matchup presents a classic MEC road challenge — a disciplined opponent, a tight gym, and a team comfortable playing close games deep into the second half.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN (0–11, 0–5 MEC)
2025–26 Season
While the record may not reflect it, West Virginia Wesleyan continues to search for its breakthrough moment in conference play. The Bobcats have been competitive in stretches but have struggled to sustain momentum, particularly when games speed up.

Wesleyan averages 71.2 points per game, but opponents have capitalized heavily on turnovers, scoring more than 25 points per game off miscues. The Bobcats play hard, rebound with effort, and are still capable of knocking down perimeter shots when rhythm is established.

What to Watch

  • A roster with size and experience across multiple positions

  • Shooters who can get hot quickly if left space

  • A team eager to flip the narrative and steal a road win

Saturday's game marks a chance for Wesleyan to test Glenville inside the Waco Center, while the Pioneers look to protect home court and continue building conference momentum.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025-26 Season
Glenville State enters the week playing its best basketball of the season. Winners of three straight, the Pioneers enter the week at (7–5) overall and (2–3) in league play with renewed momentum as they push deeper into the heart of conference play.

With a (4–1) record at home and improved composure on the road, this two-game stretch represents an opportunity to solidify positioning in the MEC standings and carry momentum deeper into January.

Wednesday's road test will challenge Glenville's discipline and execution, while Saturday offers a chance to feed off the Waco Center energy and extend its winning streak in front of the home crowd.
