FAIRMONT, W.Va. - Glenville State Women's Soccer goal keeper Lucia Lopez has been tabbed Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. The weekly award is presented by The Health Plan.

Lopez, a junior out of Monte, Madrid, Spain, was key in the Pioneers (2-0) record last week with wins over Davis & Elkins and Wheeling. Lopez allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of play on the week, surrendering it at D&E while saving seven shots and seeing a total of 16 from the Senators. She then produced a shutout and one save in GSU's 4-0 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
