THE OPPONENTS
SHAWNEE STATE
2026 Season
Shawnee State enters Wednesday's matchup with a (1-9-2) overall record and a (1-8-2) conference record. The Bears' lone victory came in a 2-1 win over Davis & Elkins on Sept. 23, while they also recorded draws against West Virginia Wesleyan and Charleston. Shawnee State has struggled in recent matches, falling to Wheeling 3-0 before suffering a 4-0 loss to Frostburg State in its most recent outing.
Quick Look at The Bears
In its first season competing as an NCAA Division II member and in the Mountain East Conference, Shawnee State will look to regain its footing at home against the Pioneers. The Bears will aim to generate more offense after being held scoreless in their last four matches. Glenville State claimed a 2-1 victory in the teams' first meeting on Sept. 16, and Shawnee State will look to make the rematch more competitive on its home turf.
CONCORD
2026 Season
Concord enters the week with a (3-8-2) overall record and a (3-6-2) mark in the MEC. The Mountain Lions have shown offensive potential during the season, recording wins over Shawnee State, Wheeling and West Liberty. Most recently, Concord faced nationally ranked Fairmont State on Oct. 11, falling by a 2-1 final.
Quick Look at The Mountain Lions
Concord will look to rebound from its latest setback when it travels to Glenville on Sunday. The Mountain Lions have demonstrated the ability to produce goals, including a six-goal performance against Shawnee State and a four-goal outing against West Liberty. Glenville State edged Concord 1-0 in their first meeting on Sept. 20, setting up another close conference matchup as the teams meet for the second time this season.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
The Pioneers enter the week with a (7-6) overall record and a MEC South Division-best (7-4) league mark. After a 1-0 loss to nationally ranked Fairmont State on Oct. 4, Glenville State responded with a 2-1 victory over Davis & Elkins before earning a season-best 4-0 win over Wheeling on Oct. 11. The four-goal performance marked the Pioneers' highest scoring output of the season and extended their winning streak to two games.
Quick Look at The Pioneers
Glenville State will look to carry its recent offensive momentum into their two games this week. Isabella Cuellar-Gutierrez along with Valentina Quiroz and Solares Solano, the leading scorers for the Pioneers, all found the back of the net against Wheeling, with Cuellar-Gutierrez scoring twice. Sofia Jalaksova, Mya Davila and Sofia Cuellar-Gutierrez also contributed assists in the shutout victory. With a chance to build on their current winning streak, the Pioneers will look to carry that attacking production into Wednesday's rematch with Shawnee State before returning home to face Concord on Sunday.
