THE OPPONENT
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2026 Season
West Virginia Wesleyan enters Wednesday's matchup with a (7-7-3) overall record and a (7-6-2) mark in Mountain East Conference play after a 0-0 tie against Shawnee State on Sunday (Oct. 25). The Bobcats have shown the ability to compete against conference opponents though, earning a 1-0 victory over Glenville State earlier this season before recording multiple shutouts with wins over Davis & Elkins, Wheeling, Charleston, and Concord.
Quick Look at The Bobcats
West Virginia Wesleyan's attack is led by Mia Rodriguez, who has recorded five goals this season. Tessa Grisez has added three goals, while Sydne Alexander, Kailey Garofalo and Carlie Ice have each contributed two. Natalie Carlock leads the Bobcats with four assists, while Ayan Ahmed has added three assists to help set up the Bobcat goals. In goal, Reyna Dalton has been a key defensive presence, recording 84 saves and multiple shutouts through the team's 17 matches played. The Bobcats will look to their balanced attack and defensive efforts to repeat their earlier result against Glenville State.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
The Pioneers enter Wednesday's matchup at (8-8-1) overall and (8-6-1) in Mountain East Conference play, looking to close out the regular season on a positive note. Glenville State has experienced a competitive conference schedule throughout the season, with its eight victories keeping the Pioneers in contention heading into their final matchup. After putting together a three-game winning streak earlier in October, Glenville State has faced a challenging stretch in its most recent contests. The Pioneers most recently fell 2-0 to West Virginia State on Oct. 25, with both goals coming in the second half.
Quick Look at The Pioneers
Valentina Quiroz and Solares Solano have been important contributors to Glenville State's attacking efforts this season, while Isabella Cuellar-Gutierrez and Sofia Jalaksova have also provided scoring opportunities. The Pioneers will look to generate chances through their attacking group against a West Virginia Wesleyan defense that has recorded shutouts several times this season. Glenville State fell victim to a shutout when they previously faced the Bobcats on Sept. 13, falling 1-0 in Buckhannon. Wednesday's Senior Night matchup gives the Pioneers an opportunity to respond to that result and close their regular season at home with a win.
