GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Men's Golf has now turned their attention to the 2026 Mountain East Conference Championship at Stonewall Resort Sunday (Oct. 4) through Tuesday (Oct. 6). The Pioneers placed second in last year's championship.

The Pioneers are coming off of the Sunnehanna Collegiate in Pennsylvania earlier in the week, where they placed 12th out 18 schools in the tournament. Though it was not what first-year head coach Patrick Smith would have liked to see out his Pioneers as the league championship loomed, GSU showed serious flashes of how good they can be early in the season.

Glenville State tied for 4th out of 20 teams at the UC Invitational to open the season, narrowly finishing behind MEC foes Wheeling and Davis & Elkins. Daiki Aiura shined that weekend, shooting (-7) over three rounds and being crowned the top finisher. The following week, the Pioneers won the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational at Stonewall Resort as a team, topping six MEC schools en route to the first place finish.
