WHEELING, W.Va. – At the conclusion of the 2026 Mountain East Conference Basketball Tournament on Sunday (Mar. 8), Glenville State Women's Basketball had two Lady Pioneers named to the MEC All-Tournament Team in
Nwando Okigbo and
Wonder Nkoyock while Men's Basketball saw
Jalen Knott earn All-Tournament honors.
Okigbo recorded a double-double in all three games the Lady Pioneers played, including 17 points and 25 rebounds, which tied the single game rebounding record in MEC Tournament history, against West Liberty in the Quarterfinals. Okigbo then had 10 points and 10 rebounds versus Fairmont State in the Semifinals before scoring 10 and grabbing 11 boards against UC in the Championship game. The Anambra, Nigeria native was also awarded the Commissioner's Heart & Hustle Award.
Nkoyock had her best game of the tournament against Fairmont State when the senior scored 18 points and pulled down six rebounds. She shot 50% from the field and made four three-pointers in the victory. Nkoyock also scored eight points in the Championship game loss.
Knott was phenomenal for the Pioneers in his two games played in Wheeling, averaging 21.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG and 1.5 APG. He scored 16 points and drained five three-pointers in the Quarterfinal victory over Charleston before notching 26 points and four rebounds in the Pioneers double overtime defeat to West Liberty in the Semifinals. He had seven made threes against WLU as well.
