INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Glenville State Men's Golf team has earned an at-large bid into the 2026 NCAA Atlantic/East Regional, the association announced. The Pioneers will compete at the Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa. from May 7-9.
Glenville State was one of 13 teams from the Atlantic Regional to make the tournament, coming in as the region's ninth-best squad. Charleston, who won the MEC Championship during the fall, earned the automatic bid and the No. 7 ranking. Mountain East Conference foes Wheeling and West Liberty also made the cut.
The Pioneers have had a strong 2025-26 campaign, winning three tournaments, including the MEC Spring Classic earlier this month. GSU finished second at the MEC Championship in October and picked up tournament wins at Charleston's Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational and Pitt-Johnstown's Bedford Springs Invitational.
GSU has seen consistency all year long from their top performers
Fermin Perez Santandrea,
Hector Arriaga,
Irtaza Hussain,
Daiki Aiura and
Gervasio Leyes. Four Pioneers in the lineup earned All-MEC honors, with Santandrea and Aiura logging first team honors while Hussain and Arriaga were second team selections.
