CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Glenville State Men's Golf team used an excellent performance from sophomore Daiki Aiura to jump 12 spots on day two of the UC Fall Invitational and finish fourth in the Pioneers first tournament of the 2026-27 season.

Aiura shot 70 (+1) to open the week before a pair of 66's (-4) in rounds two and three bumped the former All-MEC First Team selection to a first-place finish by six shots. Gervasio Leyes was a top 25 finisher for Glenville State, shooting (+7) over the three rounds while Fermin Perez Santandrea and Daniel De Quintal tied for 23rd at (+8). Irtaza Hussain finished strong after struggling in the opening round, fighting back to a (+5) second round and even par in round three skyrocket 27 spots and finish tied for 54th. Segundo Del Carril (+15, T-60th) and Preston Lightle (+25, T-99th) rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers.
