WHEELING, W.Va. – Four Glenville State Men's Golfers were named to the All-MEC teams after this week's Mountain East Conference Spring Classic in Wheeling. Fermin Perez Santandrea and Daiki Aiura were selected to the First Team while Irtaza Hussain and Hector Arriaga logged Second Team honors.
 
The awards were determined by individual performances during five MEC-sponsored rounds of golf, three of which occurred during the fall at Cobb Course at the Resort at Glade Springs, combined with the two-day event at Oglebay Resort.  
 
ALL-MEC FIRST TEAM
FERMIN PEREZ SANTANDREA
Santandrea finished 6^th and shot (+3) at the MEC Fall Championship in October before taking first place at Wednesday's MEC Spring Classic with a (-5) in the two-round classic. The Tandil, Argentina native was consistent throughout, shooting (-3) in round one and (-2) in the second round.
 
DAIKI AIURA
Aiura, a true freshman out of Tokyo, Japan, was third in October's championship after finishing (+1) in the three rounds played at Glade Springs. Aiura finished T-31^st this week with a (+7) outing for the Pioneers.
 
ALL-MEC SECOND TEAM
IRTAZA HUSSAIN
Hussain finished 11^th in the fall, shooting a (+9) at Glade Springs but bounced back with a (+4) during the MEC Spring Classic, which gave him a top 25 finish at No. 21. The Islamabad, Pakistan product was just one shot off from finishing in the top 15.
 
HECTOR ARRIAGA
Arriaga, another true freshman, who hails from Cuernavaca, Mexico, logged a pair of top 20 finishes over the five rounds of MEC-sponsored golf. He finished 20^th at the MEC Fall Championship in October with a (+19) mark before being the runner-up behind Santandrea in the Spring Classic with an impressive (-4) finish at Oglebay.
